The very best advice in all of this is do NOT feed the ducks and geese anything at all, ever. Feeding them causes a lot of problems, including disrupting their migratory habits. The lagoons are fouled almost beyond repair from goose and duck poop because of the feeding. Also, Canada geese can be very protective of their young. Their wings are good weapons and they will "flap" small children, so be careful around them. We at the Museum hope that everyone will heed the "Do Not Feed" signs for all of the animals in Lords Park.

Lord's Park has been our families place to picnic, play Tennis,Basketball,Baseball,Soccer for Decades on End.We Also took Many Field Trips there While Growing up in the Schaumburg School District#54 Please Keep the Zoo Open;and to also keep the deer,Bison, and elk and the Farm Zoo intact. It SHOULD be Instituted and Established as a Historical Landsite just like the Lincoln Memorial and The Log Cabin were thru our Federal Gov't..Its also a Place where People can go for Peace and Serenity while Walking the Paths or evenso BikeRide on the Paths. So here's hoping Governor Pat Quinn Wakes Up And Smells The Coffee To Allow Federal Funding To Upgrade, Keep and preserve this Historical Landsite. We could even go To Washington,D.C. or evenso GO TO our Local Senators to APPROVE FEDERAL FUNDING from Washington,D.C..Heck if we have 500 Billion Dollars a year To Keep our Troops in IRAQ and Afghanistan we could atleast receive 5 million dollars a year to Complete this Mission (which in Comparison is mere pennies on the $5 Dollar Bill)So those who are with me on this Mission should write your Local Senators to have it approved thru the Congress (its part of the National Parks) for God's Sake! Good Luck And Godspeed, :-) 5/30/'10

Great fundraiser last night. Love the idea and reality of showing animals to the public, and kids especially, and first and foremost to me--farm animals cuz I grew up across the street from a fruit and veggie farm in Michigan. We only had chickens, and I'm not the best fan of them, but KIDS need to see the animals and veggies that are grown to feed us and that are part of the Earth's biosystem!

The substance burning in the shell is almost certainly sage. It is burned for purification before a ceremony. Sage is used quite often for purification. I use it in my office on occasion, after negativity has been there. Thanks for organizing this event!
